Modified fuel tank and cover are finished! You can see how the front CF cover follows the contours of the fuel tank. I think I will add some rubber trim around the bottom edge, as well as the forward edge of the carbon tail/seat section.
Forward tank mounts can be seen, bolted to the frame rail, just aft of the carbon cover.
If I was to do it again, I wouldn't bother with the raised seam in the mold. The seam ended up rough (that's why I painted it)... I can see now you can get away with such thin carbon fibre after pulling out of the mold, it will flex a bit to match the tank contours.
You can see the dzus fastener holding the front of the tank. This might be sufficient to keep it in place. I also thought about Velcro on the trailing edge of the carbon cover. I'll see... it might not be necessary.

Looks really good! How much did you spend on the CF cloth and resin etc do you figure?
I got a kit off of ebay for 55 bucks... and that had a pile of extra cloth. I also had to make the mold out of fibreglass but I just got that from Cdn tire...
did i miss something? where did the arrow exhaust go?
